The St Andrews Hall complex is the most complete remains of a Dominican Priory in England and is a scheduled monument having an illustrious history of music, festivals and civic events and a key position in the hear of Norwich. Norwich HEART (Heritage Economic and Regeneration Trust) have been working on plans to unlock the vast potential of the buildings and provide a strategy, which will ensure a long-term future for the Hail.
Roger Tomlinson and Chris Baldwin of ACT have been working with the City Council on this project since 1996. Subsequently, in 2006, ACT was commissioned by Norwich City Council and the H.E.A.R.T. Trust to review the programming and operation of St Andrews Hall to inform the architectural feasibility study into its future.
ACT then worked alongside Hudson Architects on the subsequent building development study with a particular focus on the auditorium seating design.
Hopkins Architects has now been selected as the architect for the regeneration plans for the Halls.
