The Babylon Gallery

The Babylon Gallery

This opened in June 2000. The first exhibition was in the form of a preview for Cambridge Open Studios artists. ACT was principal designer for the gallery, the associated offices for ADeC (Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire) both on the Ground Floor, and offices for the District Council's Department of Recreation and Tourism on the Second Floor.

The Maltings, Ely

The Maltings, Ely
ACT designed the remodelling of the Elysian Hall in Spring 2002 and the accompanying improvements to the technical infrastructure, to include:

  • a new lighting control system, dimmers, DMX data system and internally wired bars
  • alterations to the stage front to allow for the addition of a modular forestage extension
  • replacement of stage tracks and curtains
The Mobile Bank of Equipment
This resource that is housed in a purpose-designed store in Ely is available, via ADeC, throughout the community at an affordable cost. Equipment available includes lighting, sound, staging, exhibition and digital photographic and recording equipment. This project was granted Lottery Funding and is now operational. For further information see www.adec.org.uk .

Improvements to small-scale arts venues
Twenty venues including two primary schools and four village colleges throughout East Cambridgeshire have received improvements to their arts facilities. ACT carried out an assessment of their existing provision and made recommendations to East Cambridgeshire District Council for improvements ensuring a basic level of theatrical provision to each venue.
